Fair Trade Tourism

The mark of a good holiday

The Peech Hotel is proud to announce our FTT certification renewal, lasting up to 2027.

In the words of FTT “Extraordinary travel experiences are made possible when hosts have the well-being of people and the planet at heart. The Fair Trade Tourism (FTT) ‘family’ is a network of passionate, inspiring tourism leaders in Africa that have embraced the need to do tourism better and who have committed whole heartedly to Fair Trade Tourism principles, proving their dedication to creating better places to live, work, and visit.”

The Fair Trade Tourism certification is the mark of best practice, defined by a hotel’s commitment to fair wages and working conditions, fair purchasing and operations, equitable distribution of benefits, and respect for human rights, culture and the environment.

FTT was first established in South Africa in 2001 and its certification standard was among the first in the world to be officially “Global Sustainable Tourism Council Recognised”.

In a world where many tourism operators and properties present themselves as “sustainable”, the Fair Trade in Tourism badge is a guaranteed mark of The Peech’s commitment to sustainability in travel.
