The Peech has two restaurants on the property under the supervision of Head Chef, Feni Malebye-Lutalo.
Feni has a wealth of experience having worked under a number of South Africa’s most celebrated chefs – Chef Luke Dale-Roberts, Chef James Gaag, Chef Liam Tomlin – to name a few. After moving back to Joburg to be closer to family in late 2018, Feni joined The Peech at the launch of Basalt Restaurant in Sept 2019. She has has since been promoted to Head Chef of both Basalt and The Peech Hotel’s in-house Garden Restaurant .
Our Garden Restaurant is exclusively for our in-house guests, serving fresh, light and seasonal dishes throughout the day. The newly refurbished space is light and energising, with floor to ceiling glass sliding doors opening up onto a covered patio and overlooking the hotel’s gardens and swimming pool. It’s the perfect eatery for more casual, light dining, and is ideal for families.
BASALT our fine-dining restaurant, is open on a select number of evenings of the week. A warm, intimate space in the original heritage house, the menu offers a straightforward range of dishes, celebrating authentic food and original flavours, with a global influence.
Basalt is open for in-house guests and local patrons by reservation only.
