Where is The Peech?
Find us at: Number 61 North Street, in the suburb of Melrose.
Melrose is a chic suburb between Sandton, Rosebank and Melrose Arch. Sandton, the city’s business hub, is ten minutes by car. Rosebank & Melrose Arch are five minutes. The hotel is opposite the James & Ethel Gray Park and the nearest landmark is the Wanderers Sports Club.
What’s the best way from the airport?
The easiest route from the airport (especially if you are travelling with luggage) is for us to arrange a driver to collect you from the arrivals hall of the airport. Travel time is 45 mins (upto 60 mins in rush hour). Alternatively Uber also works well from the airport.
A faster option from the airport is to use the Gautrain (an airport train link) and then take a taxi to the hotel. The Gautrain station is inside the airport. We are about 4kms from Sandton Gautrain station. Total travel time is about 30 mins.
Where do I park?
We have secure parking at the hotel. There is no charge.
When can I check in?
Check in is from 2pm. Earlier check in is sometimes possible depending on the previous nights departures.
When do I check out?
Check out is by 11am. Late check out is sometimes possible depending on the day’s arrivals.
Can you store my bags whilst I travel in SA?
Yes you can. There is no charge.
Can I do my laundry?
Yes you can. There is a small charge.
What restaurant options do I have?
We have two restaurants on the property. Our garden restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner to hotel guests. Our second restaurant, Basalt (www.basalt.restaurant), is a fine dining restaurant and is open to the public as well as hotel guests.
How do I book a table at the restaurant?
Tables at Basalt require a reservation.
Can I order room service?
Our garden restaurant menu is available for room service.
Is there a gym?
We have a gym adjacent to the hotel (with our own private entrance). There is a small fee for use of the gym facility.
What different rooms does the hotel have?
The hotel has Classic Rooms, Luxury Rooms, Peech Suites and a Peech Villa.
Got kids! Are two rooms necessary?
Children below 3 years can stay in a cot, at no charge. Children 3-12 can stay in an extra bed in our suites and villa. Children over 12 are treated as adults.
